It is said that the Bernese mountain dog is 2000 years old breed. They were recognized by Swiss Kennel Club in 1902.Bernedoodle was originated in Ontario, Canada. Bernedoodle was first bred by Sherry Rupke of SwissRidge Kennels in 2003.

The male Berner's height is between 61 to 71 cm (24-28 inches).The height of the male Bernedoodle ranges from 30 to 44 cm (12-17 inches).

The weight of the male Bernese mountain dog is 35 to 55 kg (77-122 pounds).The weight of the male dog can be 30 to 42 kg (67 to 93 pounds).

The weight of female Berner is 30 to 50 kg(66-111 pounds).The female bernedoodle’s weight can be 30 to 39 kg (66-86 pounds).
Life Span
The breed has quite a few health concerns. Cancer is a primary life-threatening disease in Bernese. Like cancer, there are some other diseases common in the Bernese due to which their mortality rate is high and has a lifespan of 6 to 8 years.As the bernedoodle is a healthy breed, so the expected lifespan of the Bernedoodle is 12 to 15 years.

Health Problems
Bernese Mountain Dogs have many health problems. The Berbers are particularly prone to die from cancer. The Berner's lifespan is also shorter than other dogs his size. Cruciate ligament rupture, hip dysplasia and arthritis cause death in two percent of all other dogs. However, the cause of mortality in Berners is six percent due to these ailments. They can suffer from hypoadrenocorticism and histiocytic sarcoma.As the bernedoodle is a new breed, so there is limited information is available about their health concerns. They have fewer health problems than their parent dogs. It is generally a healthy breed. Still, they may have other minor diseases like hip and elbow dysplasia, hot spots and eye issues.
Characteristics
Bernese mountain dogs are not shy, aggressive or anxious. These are loving and social dogs. Early socialization is necessary for them. They are intelligent and want to please their family members in any way.Bernedoodles want to live and spend time with people. This breed is not for you if you don’t have enough time for the dogs. They need to be socialized at an early age. They are very playful. Mini and Toy bernedoodle have more energy and more stubbornness.
