First-year total
One-time setup costs plus twelve months of recurring costs and one year of other annual costs.
Turn your own one-time, monthly and annual dog expenses into first-year, later-year and long-term planning totals. No unverified national or city price averages are inserted.
Add costs in one currency. Keep one-time setup costs separate from repeating monthly and annual expenses to avoid double counting.
Results use only your entries. They do not predict local prices, inflation, emergencies or a dog's lifespan.
One-time setup costs plus twelve months of recurring costs and one year of other annual costs.
Twelve months of your monthly entry plus the other annual entry, excluding the one-time setup amount.
One-time costs plus recurring annual costs repeated across your chosen period, with no inflation or investment calculation.
first year = setup + recurring yearCosts expected only once are added to the first year and long-term total, but not to later recurring years.
recurring year = monthly ร 12 + annualThe monthly entry is multiplied by twelve, then added to costs entered directly as annual expenses.
total = setup + recurring year ร yearsCurrent recurring costs are repeated for the selected number of years. This is a simple budget scenario, not a price forecast.
The currency selector changes display labels only. It does not convert amounts or fetch exchange rates, so all entries must use the same currency.
With 500 in setup costs, 150 per month and 600 in other annual costs, recurring costs are 2,400 per year. The first-year total is 2,900. Repeating 2,400 for 12 years and adding the 500 setup amount produces a simple 29,300 planning total before inflation or unexpected expenses.
Food, supplies, grooming, training, insurance, routine care and services differ by household. Omitting a category lowers the result.
Inflation, exchange rates, provider changes and a dog's changing needs can make future spending differ from today's entries.
Illness, injury, travel, damage and other unplanned costs cannot be forecast by repeating a regular budget.
The calculator does not claim that a particular amount is sufficient and does not estimate local veterinary, insurance or service prices. Revisit the entries regularly and maintain a financial plan appropriate to your circumstances. A selected planning period is not an estimate of an individual dog's lifespan.
Use this field for expenses you expect once during setup, such as initial equipment or an adoption or purchase cost. Enter only costs that apply to your situation.
Combine recurring monthly amounts such as food, routine supplies, subscriptions or services. You can total them before entering the figure or use a current monthly budget.
Use the annual field for recurring expenses that are not already included in the monthly total. Avoid counting the same expense in both fields.
No. It uses only the amounts you enter and makes no assumptions about location, breed or provider prices.
No. The displayed total repeats the current recurring annual amount across the selected planning period. Future prices may be higher or lower.
Only if you include an emergency-fund contribution in your own monthly or annual amount. The calculator cannot predict whether, when or how much emergency care may cost.
Internal policy for deterministic calculations, user-controlled assumptions, versioning, validation and corrections. This calculator deliberately uses no unverified price dataset.
